Free to Run in London!
Free to Run is excited to be coming to London for a special 3km Shakeout Run Event in April, ahead of the London Landmarks Half Marathon! Whether you are running the London Landmarks race, or just looking to head out for a Saturday morning jog, we hope to see you there. Or just come for the refreshments, no running required! 🙈
Date: Saturday, April 5, 2025
Time: 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
Venue: On Store London Spitalfields, 37 Brushfield St, London E1 6AA
This event is a chance to bring together members of Free to Run's global community, and is hosted by our friends at On. We’ll kick things off with a warm welcome and a brief introduction to Free to Run, followed by a chance to hear from three of our 2025 Ambassadors, Beyan, Fatima, and Sada.
Then, we’ll head out for a relaxed 3km shakeout run, led by On pacers. Afterward, stick around for post-run refreshments and the chance to connect with fellow runners.

Fatima Painda is from Afghanistan and now works as a nurse in the UK. She became an Ambassador for Free to Run as part of her goal to inspire Muslim women through sports, which she sees as a tool for empowerment. Last August, Fatima completed the CCC, a final of the UTMB World Series in France, as one of only a few Afghan women to experience such a race.
Sada Sadiq Al-Janabi grew up in Iraq, but it wasn't until she moved to the UK that she had the freedom to become a runner. As a girl, Sada didn't think that women had a place at the table, but through running, she learned that women can find inner strength and create their own places in the world.
Beyan Taher hails from Erbil, Iraq but has made a home in London. When Beyan was growing up in Iraqi Kurdistan, Free to Run and other similar programs did not exist, despite Beyan's desire to become an athlete. Through opposition, she pursued sport. She is excited that Free to Run now exists and the girls in her hometown have the opportunity to be encouraged to run!
We look forward to seeing you there!
